About the role

EZPZ Property Maintenance is looking for a motivated and capable Maintenance Estimator to join our team. This is an opportunity to combine practical trade experience with estimating, job assessment and project coordination in a varied and interesting role. Initially, you will spend time working hands on alongside existing tradespeople to understand the business, the type of work undertaken, customers and operational processes. From there, you will progressively transition into estimating, with the longer-term objective of taking on a predominantly estimating based position.

EZPZ specialises in property maintenance, repairs and small construction projects across South East Queensland, working with a large network of real estate agencies and property clients. Work is varied and includes carpentry repairs, building maintenance, minor renovations, property improvements and general minor repair works.

Key responsibilities

- Work alongside the field team to understand the types of work undertaken by EZPZ

- Assess maintenance and small construction jobs and identify the work required

- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations and estimates

- Calculate labour, materials and associated job costs

- Source and price materials and coordinate with suppliers where required

- Review job information, photographs and customer requests to determine scope

- Use computer systems to prepare, manage and follow up quotations

- Assist with scheduling when required

- Liaise with office staff, tradespeople, suppliers and customers

- Support consistent pricing,

About you

- Carpentry qualification or equivalent trade experience

- Solid practical carpentry experience and good understanding of building and maintenance work

- Very valuable computer skills and confidence working with different software systems

- Ability to read job descriptions, photographs and plans and determine the work required

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and organised approach to work

- Ability to calculate labour and material requirements accurately after attending site

- Willingness to learn new systems, processes and estimating procedures

- Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Previous estimating experience would be an advantage, but not essential
