We’re looking for a highly skilled CNC Laser Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team to develop high-precision metal components using laser cutting, brake press and tube-bending machinery.

With solid attention to detail, you will prepare and optimise laser cutting programs, ensuring parts are produced accurately, efficiently and to specification. Proficient with CAD/CAM software such as CADMAN and TruTops, you will prepare DXF files, select tooling and set machine parameters.

While laser programming will be a key focus initially, you will have the opportunity to expand your capability into brake press and tube-bending programming as our manufacturing operations capability continues to evolve.

What you’ll be responsible for

- Develop, edit and optimise CNC programs for laser cutting, brake press forming and tube bending.

- Prepare and convert DXF files using CAD/CAM software.

- Improve laser nesting standards to reduce collision risks, minimise material waste and improve efficiency.

- Introduce and develop offline brake press programming to reduce machine downtime.

- Progressively undertake tube-bending programming as part of your development in the role.

- Interpret CAD drawings, sketches and work instructions to create accurate machining programs.

- Support CNC operators with troubleshooting and production-related technical issues.

- Manage machine technology setup, tooling data and revision control.

- Work closely with Engineering, Production and Planning to resolve technical issues and meet lead times.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, quality and safety.

- Provide technical input for cost estimates and quotations when required.

- Support machine operation,



calibration and troubleshooting on the production floor.

About you

You will have;

- Demonstrated CNC Laser programming experience in a manufacturing environment

- Strong experience programming laser cutting machines, preferably LVD and/or Trumpf.

- Experience with brake press machinery, tooling and operating procedures is highly desirable

- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as CADMAN or TruTops.

- Hands-on experience operating, calibrating and troubleshooting CNC machinery

- Experience working with small-batch production, where accurate programming is essential.

- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or a related discipline would be highly regarded

- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing processes and quality principles.

- An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

- The ability to interpret technical drawings and solve production challenges.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

- A proactive, hands-on approach and a willingness to continue learning.

Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and experience with tube-bending programming would be advantageous, but not essential.
