- Commencing January 2027

- $47,286 - $56,451 + super (salary dependant on age)

Are you someone who loves the outdoors, has a green thumb, and is ready to get hands-on experience maintaining some of the most beautiful parks and natural spaces in the South West?

The City of Busselton is on the lookout for a motivated and enthusiastic Local Government Trainee to join our Parks and Gardens team . Over 12 months, you’ll not only get paid to work in the great outdoors, but you’ll also complete a Certificate II or III in Horticulture .

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be part of a passionate and experienced team working across:

- Maintaining our stunning parks, gardens, foreshore areas, and natural spaces
- Landscaping, planting, pruning, mulching, and fertilising
- Operating a range of tools and machinery
- Learning about weed and pest control, turf care, nursery work and more
- Helping build and maintain new and existing green spaces across the City
- Providing friendly customer service while proudly representing the City of Busselton

What you’ll bring to the role:

You don’t need alot of experience (just the right attitude!) and ideally will:





- Love being outdoors and working with nature
- Eager to learn and be committed to completing your studies
- Work well in a team and bring a positive, can-do attitude
- Communicate clearly and show initiative
- Follow safety procedures and take pride in your work

Pre-employment Requirements:

- A current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- A Valid White Card (or ability to obtain)
