About the Role
As a valued member of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Hunter Valley team, you'll contribute your specialist clinical expertise within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to achieving meaningful recovery outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Work alongside a supportive team of experienced clinicians, utilising a team-oriented model of care that promotes dual‑clinician practice, effective family‑based therapeutic interventions and ongoing professional growth. Shared clinical decision-making, team-oriented risk assessments and continuous service improvement are central to the way we work.
Deliver specialist mental health assessments, develop tailored therapeutic interventions and provide case management, care coordination and service navigation to support young people experiencing complex and severe mental health presentations. Working in partnership with families and carers, you'll help address underlying factors impacting mental health, strengthen individual and family capacity, and promote sustainable recovery and long‑term wellbeing.
Be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team with access to daily clinical collaboration and review alongside Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics. You'll also benefit from dedicated support through local team governance, the broader CAMHS and Mental Health networks, and senior clinical colleagues across the Hunter Valley and Manning CAMHS services.
Enhance your clinical expertise through regular individual and group supervision, ongoing professional development and access to specialised training in established therapeutic approaches, including Family‑Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT‑E) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Supported by an on‑site Staff Specialist Psychiatrist, senior allied health and nursing clinicians, and district Senior Clinical Psychologists, you'll have access to a strong clinical support network. There are also valuable opportunities to contribute to the development of future practitioners through student supervision and support for early‑career psychologists.
Experience a diverse and rewarding clinical environment, working with a range of acute and complex mental health presentations while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to high‑quality, evidence‑based care and positive outcomes for young people and their families.
