Duty Manager – Gaming & Bar Operations (Birrong Sports Club)

Birrong Sports Club is a community-focused venue and part of the wider Bankstown Sports group, offering gaming, food & beverage and entertainment experiences to our members and guests.

Gaming is a significant part of the venue’s operation. We’re looking for an experienced Club hospitality leader who understands gaming operations, compliance and the importance of delivering exceptional service in a busy registered club setting.

About You

You’re an experienced registered club and gaming professional who leads from the front, builds strong teams and is confident taking ownership of venue operations.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Previous leadership experience within a registered club or gaming venue
- Strong gaming operational experience and knowledge
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Gaming Supervisor, Gaming Manager or similar leadership role
- Current RSA and RCG Competency Cards
- Strong understanding of gaming compliance and responsible gambling requirements
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams
- Sound operational knowledge across gaming, bar and food & beverage
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and customer service skills
- Experience with cash handling, reconciliations, incident management and shift reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making operational decisions
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Current First Aid Certificate will be highly regarded

About the Role

Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Duty Manager plays a key leadership role in the day-to-day operation of Birrong Sports Club.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll be highly visible across the venue, leading frontline teams,



overseeing gaming operations, maintaining strong compliance standards and ensuring every member and guest receives an exceptional experience.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead and support frontline teams across gaming, bar, food & beverage and venue operations
- Oversee gaming operations and maintain strong service and compliance standards
- Champion exceptional member and guest experiences
- Coach, mentor and develop team members
- Confidently manage escalated customer enquiries and service recovery
- Ensure compliance with RSA, RCG, WHS and Club operating procedures
- Maintain high presentation, safety and operational standards
- Oversee cash handling, reconciliations, incidents and shift reporting
- Assist with rostering, stock control, security and venue requirements
- Support promotions, events and member engagement activities
- Provide confident operational leadership and decision-making during your shift
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
