About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a technology delivery team working on enterprise application development, capacity management and automation initiatives.

The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement and ongoing support of a Java-based capacity management platform, developing application components, data collectors, database interfaces and reporting capabilities.

Working closely with capacity management specialists, platform engineers, database administrators and project stakeholders, you will help deliver solutions that improve infrastructure utilisation monitoring, CPU right-sizing, automated capacity reporting and operational decision-making.

This is an excellent prospect for a skilled Java Developer to contribute to complex enterprise technology initiatives involving application development, systems integration, data engineering and automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance and maintain Java application components, including APIs, data collectors, processing logic and system interfaces.
- Design and implement data collection and integration solutions across monitoring tools, infrastructure platforms and configuration repositories.
- Develop data aggregation, transformation and storage solutions using PostgreSQL and other relevant technologies.
- Support the development of Grafana dashboards, reporting solutions and data extracts for capacity analysis and forecasting.
- Integrate monitoring and observability data from platforms such as Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus, VMware Aria and Dynatrace.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, scheduled jobs and repeatable deployment processes.
- Investigate and resolve software defects, perform root cause analysis and support remediation activities.
- Participate in software testing,



release management and production support.
- Prepare technical documentation, implementation notes, operational procedures and knowledge transfer materials.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and sustainable technology solutions.

Highly Desirable Criteria

- Experience working on enterprise-scale Java application development and enhancement projects.
- Experience with capacity management, infrastructure monitoring, performance optimisation or CPU right-sizing initiatives.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms, including Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic, VMware Aria or Dynatrace.
- Experience developing data collectors, APIs, database integrations and automated reporting solutions.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational database technologies.

Desirable Criteria

- Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment and software configuration management.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps practices and continuous integration.
- Understanding of infrastructure capacity planning, utilisation analysis and performance monitoring.
- Experience supporting applications across development, testing, pre-production and production environments.
- Experience preparing technical documentation and supporting knowledge transfer.

- Strong Java programming and software development capabilities, with experience across the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience designing and implementing complex software applications, components and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, development standards, coding practices and application security.
- Demonstrated experience with release and deployment management, including risk assessment, rollback planning and post-release reviews.
- Experience selecting and implementing appropriate development, testing, configuration and integration tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including defect investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to provide technical advice and guidance and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
