This civil contractor was founded in 2001, with 350+ people across SA, NSW and VIC. It delivers water, wastewater, dams, environmental works and roads.
The role
You will be the HSE Advisor on SA Water's framework work, with at least 12 months of delivery ahead. The work has two parts:
- Angle Vale pipelines: water and sewer mains supporting Adelaide's northern growth
- A major sewer main: running through paddocks and suburban streets
The risk profile is classic civil: traffic management, bulk earthworks, trenching and backfill, pipe laying, lifting, working at heights, boring and work near overhead powerlines.
You will report into the project team, with a dotted line to the HSE Manager.
What you'll do
- Work alongside project managers and site managers, in the rhythm and routines of the project
- Keep the core processes running: toolbox talks, inspections, incident analysis and investigations
- Get your hands dirty: this is a doer role, on site most days
- Ask why: spot where a process isn't working and help the team fix it
- Support high-risk work planning: excavations, lifts, traffic and services
What you'll bring
- Cert IV WHS or higher
- Practical HSE experience in civil construction (pipelines, water or earthworks ideal)
- Confidence working with site teams and project leaders
- A curious, practical approach: you think about why things happen, not just what the form says
- Current driver's licence
What's on offer
- Company vehicle and phone
- A visible role on a major SA Water program, with a contractor growing under recent ownership
