Nurse in Charge (Scrub/Scout)

LVF Eye Centre is a current, purpose-built ophthalmic day hospital at the Clem Jones Centre, Carina. It has a single theatre and will provide ophthalmic procedures under local anaesthesia and sedation.

We are appointing a Nurse in Charge to manage nursing at the hospital as it opens. The role combines day-to-day management of a small nursing team, rostering and stores with hands-on scrub and scout work on operating days. It reports to the Medical Director, who holds overall responsibility for the hospital’s clinical standards, and the appointee will be named on the hospital’s licence application to Queensland Health.

Part time, initially 2 days per week, increasing with the operating schedule.

Requirements

- Current Ahpra registration as a Registered Nurse
- Theatre experience at Clinical Nurse level or above, or equivalent senior scrub/scout experience
- Ophthalmic or day surgery experience an advantage

Staff are supported to use the two onsite gyms and aquatic centre at the Clem Jones Centre. Free parking.
