Head of Power Trading, APAC

Our client is a well-capitalized trading firm seeking an experienced Head of Power Trading to lead and expand its APAC power trading business, with a focus on the Japanese and Australian electricity markets.

Head of Power Trading, responsibilities

- Lead and develop power trading strategies across Japan (JEPX) and Australia (NEM).
- Own trading P&L;, risk management, and overall desk performance.
- Identify and capitalize on trading opportunities across spot, forward, and derivative markets.
- Build, manage, and scale a high-performing team of traders and analysts.
- Leverage market fundamentals, quantitative analytics, and proprietary strategies to generate consistent returns.

Head of Power Trading, experience

- Proven track record of profitable power trading in Japan and/or Australia.
- Solid understanding of JEPX or NEM market structures, products, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage significant risk and deliver consistent P&L.;
- Experience building or leading trading teams, desks, or businesses.
