About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on and motivated Yard Worker to join our team within the oil and gas industry.

This is a varied role involving the handling, inspection, cleaning, maintenance and preparation of oilfield tools, pipes and drilling equipment. The ideal candidate will have practical welding skills, sound mechanical knowledge and a basic understanding of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

You will support our day-to-day yard and workshop operations, helping ensure equipment is maintained, inspected and ready for use. From time to time, you will also be required to travel to remote locations to assist with operational requirements.

Previous oil and gas experience is preferred but not essential. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a practical mindset and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

- Load, unload, handle and store oilfield tools, pipes, drilling equipment and materials.
- Clean, inspect and prepare equipment for upcoming jobs and field operations.
- Assist with basic welding, fabrication and maintenance tasks within the scope of your skills and qualifications.
- Use mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment checks, minor repairs and general maintenance.
- Assist with basic NDT-related inspection activities where trained and authorised.
- Identify and report damaged equipment, defects, wear or items requiring further inspection or repair.
- Maintain equipment storage areas and assist with stock control and record keeping.
- Keep yard and workshop areas clean, tidy and organised.
- Operate a forklift where appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Travel to remote locations from time to time to support field operations and equipment requirements.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and safe work practices.




- Assist yard, workshop and operations personnel with other duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Practical welding skills or previous welding experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and confidence using hand and power tools.
- A basic understanding of NDT methods and equipment inspection principles.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to recognise and report defects.
- Experience handling pipes, tools, machinery or industrial equipment.
- A reliable, versatile and can-do attitude.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A willingness to travel to remote locations when required.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel for work.

Previous experience in an oil and gas yard, workshop, fabrication, mechanical maintenance or industrial environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.

A current forklift licence (LF) is preferred. Relevant welding qualifications, mechanical trade experience or NDT training and certification will also be advantageous.

Hours and Travel
The standard roster is Monday to Friday, with overtime as required to meet operational demands. Occasional travel to remote locations will be required, depending on business and operational needs.
