Bayside Psychotherapy in Highett, Melbourne, is looking for a psychologist (registered or clinical), an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, or a mental health endorsed OT to see adult clients under Medicare Better Access, in our Highett rooms, by telehealth, or both.

The role suits someone who wants to do the clinical work without building a practice of their own. New clients come to you through the practice: our website, Google and referrals between the therapists here. Reception takes calls from new clients, online booking and Halaxy invoicing are set up, and there's a therapy room in Highett. A recent caseload can take time to build, and we'll support you while it does.

How it works

You'd work as an independent practitioner, under your own ABN, Medicare provider number and insurance. Your clinical decisions and approach are your own, and how many hours you offer is up to you. We'd start with a trial, and we'll go through the fee arrangement when we meet.

In-clinic days and times are agreed with you in advance. Monday and Tuesday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday afternoons, suit us best at the moment, and we're happy to talk about other times. Telehealth only is fine too,



wherever you're based in Australia.

What you'll need

- General or clinical registration with AHPRA, AASW accreditation as a mental health social worker, or OTA mental health endorsement
- A Medicare provider number, or willingness to get one for our practice
- Your own ABN and professional indemnity insurance
- Experience with adults, from private practice, a public service or community mental health

Experience with adolescents or health anxiety is welcome, and so is training in clinical hypnosis. None of these is required.

You'd be working alongside a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, a clinical psychologist and counsellors who are clinical hypnotherapists. We refer to each other when a client would be better matched with someone else.
