We’re partnering with a major Australian financial services organisation to hire a Senior .NET Engineer into a business-critical lending technology team on the Gold Coast.
This role sits within a significant transformation program focused on simplifying and modernising a complex business lending environment. You’ll work across an established .NET application estate while helping deliver new APIs, integrations and platform improvements that reduce manual processes and improve the flow of data across multiple systems.
This is not a pure greenfield role. It will suit an experienced engineer who is comfortable understanding mature systems, diagnosing complex issues and improving existing platforms rather than automatically rewriting them.
The role
You’ll work across a combination of current development, integration and BAU engineering, with responsibility for:
- Designing and developing C#/.NET applications and REST APIs
- Building and improving integrations across interconnected enterprise systems
- Working across both modern and established .NET applications
- Investigating complex production issues and driving root-cause resolution
- Designing secure and maintainable API solutions
- Working closely with other engineers, architects and business stakeholders
- Contributing to technical design, code reviews and engineering standards
- Improving application reliability, maintainability and performance
- Supporting broader platform modernisation and transformation initiatives
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally bring strong hands-on experience across:
- C# and .NET / .NET Framework
- ASP.NET MVC / Web API
- RESTful API design
- SQL Server and T-SQL
- Object-oriented design and core .NET fundamentals
- SOLID principles and common design patterns
- Authentication, authorisation and API security
- Exception handling and production-grade error management
- Enterprise integrations
- Production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Solution design across complex application environments
Experience within banking, financial services or another large enterprise environment would be useful, but it’s not essential.
More important is your ability to understand complex systems, make sound technical decisions and clearly explain the reasoning behind your approach.
Why consider it?
You’ll join a major transformation program where the work has direct impact on how business lending is delivered across the organisation.
There is a genuine mix of engineering challenges across APIs, integrations, application modernisation, production problem-solving and solution design, with the opportunity to work across both established platforms and newer technology.
The role is based on the Gold Coast with a hybrid working model of approximately 2–3 days per week in the office.
Package: up to approximately $165k base + super + bonus.
The interview process includes a technical assessment followed by technical and leadership interviews.
If you’re an experienced .NET Engineer who enjoys getting under the hood of complex systems rather than only working on greenfield projects, reach out to Matt Kirk on
