About The Role

Infosys is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and support enterprise applications and backend services. This role is suited to an experienced developer with at least six years of professional experience and strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. You will contribute to the development of scalable and secure solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and take part in technical discussions throughout the delivery lifecycle.

The position is based in Sydney, Australia. The indicative annual gross salary range is AUD 108,571–119,893. This range is indicative and may be subject to adjustment in accordance with internal company processes and the candidate’s experience. Flexible working arrangements may be available on a hybrid basis and are reviewed case by case; candidates can discuss the details with their recruiter.

Qualifications





Candidates should bring at least six years of relevant software development experience, including practical experience designing and developing enterprise applications. Strong knowledge of Java 8 or later, including Java 11 or 17, Spring Boot, and microservices is required. You should have experience developing and consuming REST APIs and a sound understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.

Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is expected, along with familiarity with JPA or Hibernate. Candidates should be comfortable using Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle, and understand CI/CD pipelines and related tools, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Knowledge of unit testing, code quality practices, and Agile or Scrum methodologies is also important.

Experience with Spring Cloud, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS and Azure is advantageous. Banking or financial services experience is also beneficial.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues and contribute constructively to a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications and microservices. Design, implement,



and integrate RESTful APIs, ensuring services meet functional and technical requirements. Contribute to architecture and design reviews, evaluate technical options, and share recommendations with the team. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows established engineering standards and best practices.

Review code, identify and resolve defects, troubleshoot application issues, and support production releases and deployments. Work closely with product, testing, operations, and other engineering teams in an Agile environment. Participate in planning, estimation, and delivery activities, and contribute to continuous improvement across development practices and application quality.
