Role Description The Horticulture Consultant is a part-time, in office role based in Bayswater, WA. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing designs already completed and preparing planting plans, assessing site conditions, recommending suitable plants and soil treatments, and providing expert advice on plant selection and sustainable horticultural practices / styles. The role involves collaborating with landscape designers and construction teams to ensure plant selections align with design intent, local climate, budget and client expectations.

The Horticulture

Consultant will prepare planting plans, maintenance guidelines, and seasonal care schedules. This position requires on-site visits with clients and direct interaction with team members,



and clear documentation of horticultural recommendations.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of plant selection, pest and disease management, and irrigation principles, particularly for Western Australian conditions.
- Experience developing planting plans, garden maintenance regimes, and sustainable horticulture practices for residential landscapes.
- Ability to conduct on-site assessments, interpret site plans, and collaborate effectively with landscape designers, construction teams.
- Solid communication and client engagement skills, including the capacity to explain technical horticultural concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Relevant qualification in horticulture, landscape design, environmental science, or a related field; industry certifications are an advantage.
- Proven experience in residential or commercial landscaping environments, ideally within design-and-build or maintenance-focused firms.
- Capacity to work safely on active sites, with awareness of health and safety practices and willingness to follow company procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites in the Perth metropolitan area as required.
- autocad or other design software experience preferred.
