This is a temporary full-time position commencing 21 January 2027 until 10 December 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About Us

Bribie Island State High School enjoys a strong reputation for quality education. We seek to provide a rewarding and engaging education for all students. The schools' vision is to be a leader in secondary education, through the provision of the best value education for Island families, responsive to their needs and aspirations.

We have close working relationships with the two primary schools on the island, Bribie Island State School and Banksia Beach State School, including secondary transition programs.

Our school is far more than a provider of an academically rigorous education. We think about our students as young men and women; we care for them and about them, and we have high expectations of them - and ourselves. As educators we are constantly searching for current ideas, and the latest research to inform what we provide to our students and how we deliver it.

We work hard to prepare every student to 'challenge the future' through inspiration, innovation and developing resilience.

About The Role

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Student Counselling and Wellbeing: Provide counselling, advocacy, psychoeducational assessments and individualised support to students experiencing educational, behavioural, social, emotional, mental health, family or career-related challenges. Offer professional advice and recommendations to students, parents and school staff to promote positive student outcomes.
- Collaborative Support and Case Management: Work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, parents, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate student support, referrals and case management, ensuring students can access and engage successfully in educational programs.

Develop and recommend appropriate educational adjustments, intervention strategies and individualised support plans,

including behaviour support and educational support plans.
- Student Protection, Transitions and Career Pathways: Provide specialised support in student protection, critical incidents, risk management and emergency responses. Support students through key educational transitions, career development, Senior Education and Training (SET) planning, future pathways and reintegration into mainstream or alternative education settings.
- Professional Practice, Consultation and Development: Maintain ethical, confidential and accurate student records in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements. Provide professional guidance and development to school staff and parents, contribute to the implementation of school policies and participate in ongoing professional learning to strengthen student support practices.
