About the role

This is a varied, hands-on position combining responsibility for goods receiving, inventory control and supplier claims with active retail support on the shop floor. You will play an significant role in ensuring incoming stock is received and processed accurately, while also assisting customers, operating the retail point of sale (POS), replenishing shelves and merchandising stock throughout the store. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in maintaining high store standards and is happy to get involved wherever needed to support the team and our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Receive, check and accurately record all incoming stock and deliveries.

- Check delivery dockets against quantities and product descriptions.

- Identify and report damaged, missing or incorrect stock and promptly process supplier claims for credit or replacement.

- Manage and process credit and warranty claims in a timely manner.

- Coordinate incoming stock with special customer orders.

- Follow up outstanding supplier orders and confirm delivery timeframes.

- Ensure all deliveries are checked and signed for by an authorised team member.

- Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for supplier returns.





- Identify and report workplace hazards, safety concerns and security risks.

- Provide retail point of sale (POS) support, including processing customer sales and transactions.

About you

- Ideally you'll have a sound understanding of the hardware or retail industry.

- Experience in goods receiving, stock control or inventory management.

- Retail sales and point of sale experience.

- An understanding of stock merchandising, presentation and replenishment.

- A strong customer service focus and the ability to build positive customer relationships.

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- The ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

- The flexibility and initiative to adapt in a busy retail environment.
