Commercial Manager

Brisbane Corporate + FIFO 21/7 | Major Pipeline & Energy Infrastructure

We’re partnering with a leading pipeline and energy infrastructure contractor, to appoint a Commercial Manager into their Brisbane with FIFO to major projects. This is a senior, strategic role sitting within the Legal & Contracts function, supporting commercial, contractual and risk activities across major national projects.

The position offers a blended working model: Brisbane office + FIFO (21/7) to project locations including Adelaide and Gippsland, Victoria. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys corporate influence but still wants involvement in complex project delivery.

The Opportunity

You’ll collaborate closely with Legal, Pre‑Contracts, Engineering, Project Controls and Operations, ensuring commercial clarity and solid governance across multiple projects.

This role suits an experienced Commercial Manager, or Engineer/QS ready to step into a more strategic commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Review, draft and negotiate head contracts, ECIs and subcontract agreements
- Interpret scopes, schedules (P6) and pricing models to ensure commercial alignment
- Lead risk assessment activities (geotech,



weather, rate build‑ups, construction risk)
- Maintain high‑quality contractual correspondence and approval records
- Advise senior leadership on commercial positions and risk allocation
- Support project teams with claims, variations and day‑to‑day commercial matters
- Develop and implement contract administration policies and procedures
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders

About You

- Background in Commercial Management, Pre‑Contracts, QS or Engineering
- Experience in pipelines, oil & gas, energy or major civil infrastructure
- Strong contract review and negotiation capability
- Understanding of construction and project risk
- Confident advising senior stakeholders
- Able to balance corporate work with structured FIFO rotations
