Job Description Job Description:Dynatrace Observability SME Role Overview

The Dynatrace SME is responsible fordriving the enterprise observability strategy and leading the implementation,governance, and optimization of Dynatrace across applications, infrastructure,and digital services. This role combines deep technical expertise withleadership responsibilities to enable proactive monitoring, AIOps, andbusiness-aligned observability outcomes.

KeyResponsibilities ObservabilityLeadership & Strategy

Define and own the enterpriseobservability strategy aligned to business KPIs (availability, MTTR, userexperience)

Drive adoption of observabilitypractices across engineering, SRE, and operations teams

Establish observability maturity roadmap

Lead governance framework includingstandards, policies, and best practices

Lead end-to-end Dynatrace implementationacross hybrid/multi-cloud environments





Configure APM, infrastructuremonitoring, RUM, Synthetic, and log analytics capabilities

Enable AI-driven monitoring (Davis AI)for anomaly detection and RCA

Drive proactive incident detection,reduction in noise, and alert rationalization

Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgetsaligned to business services

Design scalable architecture includingOneAgent, ActiveGate, and cluster setup

Integration,Automation & DevOps Alignment

Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM(ServiceNow), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms

Enable automation, self-healing, andevent-driven workflows

Promote observability-as-code usingAPIs, Terraform, and OpenTelemetry

Embed observability into DevOps/SRElifecycle

Required Skills& Qualifications Technical Skills

Expertise in OneAgent, Smartscape,PurePath, Davis AI

Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)and Kubernetes/microservices

Knowledge of observability frameworks(metrics, logs, traces, OpenTelemetry)

Other Skills

Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident,Problem, Change Management)

Experience in Agile/Scrum deliveryenvironments

Solid debugging, troubleshooting, andanalytical skills

ExperienceRequirements

10+ years in monitoring / observability/ SRE roles

3–5+ years hands-on Dynatrace experience

Experience leading enterprise-scaleobservability implementations and migrations

Dynatrace certifications Associatepreferred
