Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Medical G2 Ward on a contract basis from 11 November 2026 through 17 January 2027 (approximately 10 weeks). This 28-bed adult medical unit serves patients across oncology, cardiology, respiratory, renal, and acute general medicine. The role offers the chance to work in a dynamic clinical workplace with a structured roster of 8-hour shifts, maximum 80 hours per fortnight, and the opportunity to start as early as 9 November if you have current ieMR training.

Preferred Requirements

- Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience




- Positive computer literacy and ability to work confidently with electronic systems
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to work a rotating roster with 8-hour shifts as per the ward schedule
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) systems, particularly if trained within the last six months
- Previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
