ABOUT PAISLEY PARK

Paisley Park is a family-owned Australian early learning company with more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education and care. We are passionate about creating exceptional environments where children feel safe, valued, connected and inspired to learn, grow and thrive.

We are a proud child-safe provider, openly advocating for child rights and dignity. We are looking for someone whose values of child safety and protection align with ours.

At Paisley Park, we believe high-quality early learning begins with strong relationships, confident Educators, thoughtful curriculum design and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. We invest in our people and recognise the important role educational leadership plays in strengthening practice, supporting professional growth and improving outcomes for children.

Our approach is grounded in collaboration, critical reflection and the belief that great educational practice develops when Educators are supported, challenged and inspired to continually grow. Through our Communities of Practice Reflective Mentor Framework, we give Educational Leaders opportunities to connect with colleagues across our services, share knowledge, explore contemporary pedagogy, and strengthen their leadership practice.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an inspiring, knowledgeable and practice-focused Educational Leader to join our brand-new, purpose-built 120-place Centre at Paisley Park Blakeview, South Australia. As a recently opened Centre, Blakeview offers the opportunity to help shape its educational identity, establish robust pedagogical foundations and build a cohesive culture of learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

The Centre has been purposefully designed to support high-quality early learning, combining contemporary architecture, beautiful learning environments, outstanding resources and carefully considered facilities. With a dedicated programming space, you will have an environment that supports curriculum planning, professional collaboration and the development of meaningful educational programs.

You will work in close partnership with a strong and experienced Centre Director who understands the importance of educational quality and collaborative leadership. Together, you will help establish and strengthen the Centre's educational direction as the service grows, supporting Educators to develop confidence, consistency and a shared commitment to excellent practice.

EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

At Paisley Park, educational leadership is not confined to reviewing documentation, preparing plans or facilitating meetings. Our Educational Leaders lead in action.

We believe effective educational leadership happens alongside Educators, in the learning environment and through meaningful professional conversations that connect theory with everyday practice.

As Educational Leader, you will be visible, accessible and actively involved in supporting the team. You will work alongside Educators to model effective practice, explore pedagogical approaches, strengthen intentional teaching and encourage thoughtful reflection on how decisions influence children's experiences, learning and development.

You will support Educators to look beyond completing documentation and consider the purpose behind their decisions. This includes exploring what children are communicating through their play, how their interests and capabilities can inform curriculum decisions, how learning environments can be enhanced, and how intentional teaching can extend children's thinking, creativity and understanding.

You will be encouraged to ask questions, challenge assumptions constructively and create opportunities for Educators to reflect on their practice in a supportive and professional environment.

Dedicated off-the-floor time will support you to undertake educational leadership responsibilities, including mentoring, curriculum planning, critical reflection and collaboration with the Centre Director. This time is intended to complement your practical engagement with the team, ensuring your leadership remains connected to the realities of the learning environment.

You will also participate in monthly professional learning with Educational Leaders from across Paisley Park through our Communities of Practice Reflective Mentor Framework. These sessions provide opportunities to share experiences, explore contemporary thinking, discuss challenges and develop a consistent, reflective approach to educational leadership across our organisation.

YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT

Working in partnership with the Centre Director, you will play a central role in strengthening the quality,

consistency and intentionality of educational practice throughout the Centre.

Your responsibilities will include:

Pedagogical leadership and curriculum development

- Lead and support the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), translating its principles, practices and learning outcomes into meaningful everyday experiences for children.

- Strengthen Educators' understanding of curriculum decision-making, intentional teaching, assessment and planning.

- Support the development of programs that respond to children's interests, strengths, identities, capabilities, family perspectives and emerging learning.

- Encourage Educators to use observation, documentation and critical reflection to inform meaningful curriculum decisions.

- Promote learning environments that encourage curiosity, creativity, exploration, agency, independence and collaborative learning.

- Support Educators to identify opportunities to extend children's thinking and learning through intentional interactions, open-ended experiences and responsive teaching.

- Encourage consistency in educational practice while recognising the individual strengths, experience and professional learning needs of each Educator.

Mentoring, coaching and professional growth

- Work alongside Educators to model effective pedagogical practice and demonstrate how theory can be translated into everyday interactions and learning experiences.

- Facilitate reflective conversations that encourage Educators to examine their decisions, consider alternative approaches and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Provide constructive, strengths-based feedback that builds confidence, professional capability and accountability.

- Identify individual and team learning needs and collaborate with the Centre Director to plan targeted professional development.

- Support Lead Educators and room teams to strengthen their leadership, curriculum planning and collaborative practices.

- Build a culture where Educators feel supported to ask questions, share ideas, reflect honestly and take responsibility for their professional growth.

- Encourage professional curiosity and the willingness to evaluate whether current practices are achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

Quality improvement and compliance

- Work collaboratively with the Centre Director to strengthen practice against the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the National Quality Framework.

- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), ensuring quality improvement is an active process rather than a documentation exercise.

- Support Educators to understand the connection between everyday practice, the NQS, regulatory requirements and children's experiences.

- Promote reflective practice that identifies strengths, recognises areas for development and translates improvement priorities into achievable actions.

- Support the development of consistent approaches to curriculum documentation, assessment and planning.

- Maintain a strong commitment to child safety, inclusion, wellbeing and the rights of every child.

- Work with the Centre Director and team to ensure educational practice reflects relevant legislation, regulations, policies and professional expectations.

Relationships, collaboration and community

- Foster respectful and productive relationships with Educators, children and families.

- Encourage meaningful partnerships with families and recognise the valuable knowledge they bring to understanding their children.

- Support Educators to incorporate family perspectives, children's voices and community connections into curriculum decisions.

- Contribute to a positive workplace culture built on trust, collaboration, professional respect and shared responsibility.

- Work in partnership with the Centre Director to communicate the Centre's educational vision and support the team in bringing it to life.

THE EDUCATIONAL LEADER WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an Educational Leader who is passionate about early childhood education and understands that meaningful improvement begins with relationships, reflection and a clear focus on children's learning and wellbeing.

You may already be an experienced Educational Leader seeking a new challenge,

or an accomplished early childhood teacher who is ready to develop your leadership capability. What matters most is your pedagogical knowledge, your ability to work collaboratively and your commitment to supporting others to become more confident and capable Educators.

You will bring:

- An approved early childhood teaching qualification appropriate to the role.

- A sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework, together with relevant South Australian regulatory requirements.

- A solid understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogy, curriculum planning, assessment and intentional teaching.

- Confidence in providing constructive feedback and supporting professional accountability.

- A genuine interest in critical reflection and continuous quality improvement.

- Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.

- The ability to work collaboratively with the Centre Director, Lead Educators and the broader team.

- A commitment to creating inclusive, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning environments.

- A clear understanding of the importance of child safety, professional conduct and the wellbeing of children.

Previous Educational Leader experience will be highly regarded. Equally, we welcome experienced early childhood teachers who demonstrate the insight, initiative and interpersonal skills needed to step confidently into educational leadership.
