Challenge convention. Create possibility. Change the game in education.

COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Sports College South Australia (SCSA) is a forward-thinking, independent, co-educational college committed to Changing the Game in education. We challenge conventional schooling by creating purposeful, relevant learning experiences connected to the world beyond the classroom.

Sport provides a powerful context for learning. Through immersion in sporting environments and partnerships with leading South Australian sporting organisations, students engage in authentic, transdisciplinary Project-Based Learning (PBL). They investigate real-world challenges, connect knowledge across subject boundaries and develop capabilities, confidence and independence for life.

Our human-first approach combines strong relationships, high expectations and meaningful student agency to support every young person to achieve Success on Their Terms. We value cooperative, innovative educators who are empowered to bring learning to life.

THE OPPORTUNITY
SCSA is seeking a passionate, creative and capable educator to join our Sport Immersion Program (SIP) in 2027, delivering a distinctive Year 11 and 12 experience that connects SACE learning with authentic projects, sporting environments, industry partnerships and personalised pathways.

Our teachers collaboratively design and deliver integrated projects that connect knowledge, skills and capabilities through real-world challenges. From athletic performance and coaching to leadership, wellbeing, enterprise and community impact, sport becomes a vehicle for purposeful learning.

We're looking for a great teacher with a genuine passion for sport and education. You don't need to be a Physical Education specialist, but you should understand sporting environments, embrace sporting culture and be excited to connect your teaching expertise with sport. Above all, we value educators who see possibilities,

build genuine relationships and inspire young people to learn.

Opportunities may be available across any of our five sporting programs:

AFL | Basketball | Cricket | Netball | Football (Soccer)

Our Sport Immersion Program operates across 11 metropolitan Adelaide venues, from South Adelaide Football Club to Gepps Cross Football Centre. Venue and sporting program allocation is negotiable, considering applicant preferences alongside operational needs.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Design learning with purpose. Collaboratively develop and deliver innovative, transdisciplinary projects connecting SACE curriculum, sporting contexts and authentic challenges.
- Bring great teaching to life. Balance inquiry-led learning with intentional instruction, scaffolding, differentiation and meaningful feedback.
- Develop Capabilities for Life. Support students to think critically, collaborate, exercise initiative and take increasing ownership of their learning.
- Know your students. Establish positive, inclusive learning environments built on strong relationships, high expectations and personalised support.
- Connect learning beyond the classroom. Collaborate with mentors, learning assistants and sporting partners to create engaging practical, sports industry and community-connected experiences.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young people and create inclusive, engaging learning environments.
- Ability to facilitate authentic,

inquiry-led learning supported by evidence-informed teaching practices.
- Strong communication, organisational and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work autonomously and contribute to a team.
- An appreciation of sport and its potential to engage young people, develop transferable skills and connect learning with real-world experiences.
- Strong curriculum design, teaching and assessment skills, with knowledge of SACE requirements or the capacity to develop this understanding (experience with Stage 1 and/or Stage 2 SACE subjects highly regarded)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & CLEARANCES

- Current TRB SA Teacher Registration, or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- First Aid qualification, including CPR and Anaphylaxis Training, or willingness to obtain.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- RRHAN-EC certification and Protective Practices Training.

Required registrations, clearances and certifications must be held prior to commencement, as applicable.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

We're interested in more than your teaching experience. We want to know what makes you a great educator, how you bring learning to life and what excites you about doing things differently. Alongside your CV, please submit a 2–3 minute video introducing yourself, sharing your approach to teaching and learning, why SCSA appeals to you and a little about who you are beyond the classroom.

Upload your video to OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud or a similar platform and include a shareable link in the cover letter submission field.

Applications close at 11:59 pm on Sunday, 22 November
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in an interview day on Monday 30th of November.
