National Rugby League

Bondi

At the National Rugby League (NRL), we’re incredibly proud of our game and the impact it has on players, fans, and communities across Australia and the Pacific. Rugby League is an inclusive sport for everyone, and our workplace reflects that we are inclusive, celebrate diversity, and strive to create a culture where all people feel they belong. Rugby League brings people together both on and off the field, with our broadcasts consistently ranking among the most watched programs nationwide.

The Role
We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to join the NRL’s Commercial Marketing team. You’ll take briefs from across the business and turn them into distinctive, on-brand work, from the first concept through to finished artwork.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll look after the visual consistency of the NRL’s brands, sub-brands and products. It’s a hands-on role that combines designing, managing the flow of briefs and supporting the development of a Junior Graphic Designer.

Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:

- Develop concepts and deliver finished artwork across digital, web and print.
- Manage brand guidelines and asset libraries so teams and partners can use NRL brands consistently.
- Work with teams across the NRL and with external partners, including agencies, clubs and sponsors, to clarify briefs and present creative ideas.
- Prioritise briefs, allocate work and manage competing deadlines while maintaining the quality of the work.
- Lead and mentor the Junior Graphic Designer and improve how the team briefs, reviews and delivers design work.

- Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact event delivery or revenue.

About You
Ideally you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and at least five years’ professional design experience in an agency or in-house team.
- A strong portfolio that includes brand and website projects and shows how you develop and execute a concept.
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, with experience preparing finished artwork for print and digital, working with image and asset libraries, and building templates in Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing multiple brands, applying and developing brand guidelines, and leading or mentoring others.
- The confidence to present your ideas, explain design decisions and work with stakeholders when priorities or deadlines compete.
- Experience in motion graphics or animation is welcome.

Whilst we look for experience, we also look for people who share the same beliefs as our organisation - we are UNITED, POSITIVE, INCLUSIVE & DISCIPLINED. Should you meet most of the criteria and share our beliefs, please apply.

The NRL is a child-safe organisation committed to providing a secure place for all children to learn and have fun. We have strong recruitment procedures to make sure the safest and most suitable people work with us and require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment, a process that will include, but is not limited to comprehensive reference checks, an identity check, “Working with Children” checks and/or national criminal history checks
