Hays is partnering with a well-established organisation that supplies products and solutions to the manufacturing and construction sectors. Backed by a large international group, the business offers the stability and structure of a major organisation while maintaining a practical, hands-on local environment. Due to an upcoming team change, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join their Geelong-based finance team. This position will initially commence on a temporary basis, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent. Applications from experienced candidates who are seeking temporary work only will also be considered.
Your recent role
Working within an established finance function, you will take ownership of key Accounts Receivable activities across multiple ledgers. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who understands AR processes thoroughly and can work accurately within established policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Allocating and receipting customer payments
- Processing credit notes and account adjustments
- Processing payments via TYRO
- Maintaining accurate customer accounts and resolving discrepancies
- Completing reconciliations and investigating account queries
- Working with Excel to review and maintain financial information
- Liaising professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
- Following established financial policies, processes and controls
- Providing additional support across the finance function as required
What you'll need to succeed
This opportunity will suit an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who can step into the position quickly and confidently.
You will ideally bring:

- Previous TYRO experience would be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- The ability to learn and follow detailed policies and procedures
- Strong reconciliation, problem-solving and investigative skills
- Availability to commence at short notice and work five days per week in the office
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, established business with strong systems and processes in place. You'll receive a thorough handover and the opportunity to make the role your own as you become established within the team.
The position offers:
- Immediate start
- Full-time hours
- Initial temporary assignment with a genuine pathway to permanency
- One-week handover
- Established systems, policies and procedures
- Varied responsibilities beyond transactional AR for someone keen to take on more
- Supportive, professional working environment
- Weekly pay cycles through Hays
- Ongoing support from your Hays consultant throughout your placement
