At Volunteering WA, we understand the importance of work-life balance. We offer a hybrid workplace with flexible working hours and five weeks’ annual leave.

Your Role

Bring your passion for volunteering and the community services sector to Volunteering WA.

As Manager, Marketing, Communications and Engagement, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of marketing, media and events and initiatives across Volunteering WA, as well as supporting effective external relationship management.

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Strategy and Development, this pivotal role works to achieve Volunteering WA’s strategic priorities through effective engagement, communications and relationship management.

In this role you will develop and deliver Volunteering WA’s strategic internal and external communications and events plan, ensuring effective brand management, stakeholder liaison and thought leadership through a variety of internal and external channels.

This includes responsibility for arranging and holding major events such as an annual Awards ceremony and State Conference whilst also building collaborative relationships with our corporate and not for profit partners in support of impactful volunteering. You will also provide leadership to a team member, fostering the Volunteering WA values and a positive culture.

As Head of the Marketing, Communications and Engagement functions, you are responsible for managing three streams:

1. Marketing: oversees brand management, collateral development, event and conference management and related fundraising.

2. Communications: oversees digital communications channels such as website, EDM and social media, and developing a media outreach strategy.

3. Engagement: identifying all touch points with internal and external stakeholders and implementing and ensuring an holistic and proactive approach to building positive relationships and communicating the Volunteering WA brand effectively.

We invite applications from candidates who want to help position our organisation as the trusted advisor and ‘go to’ for volunteering in WA. You’ll have a combination of business development, people and project management expertise as well as strategic thinking, commercial and communication skills and acumen, all of which contributes to supporting and growing volunteering in Western Australia.

This includes with VWA clients – both not for profits and corporate organisations – Government representatives and Ministers (relevant to their involvement in major events – see note below), the media, national committees, creative agencies, event suppliers and others.

- Manage and support the production of external publications and marketing assets including the Annual Report, Project Reports and end-to-end campaign material.

- Maintain, update and manage the ongoing development of key tools such as websites and other applications; as well as managing all social media platforms.
