The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.
Are you up for the challenge?
About the team –
Campus Services helps athletes, sporting organisations and other campus users access, stay and use the AIS. The team coordinates accommodation, sports camps, guest services, reception and athlete residential support across a busy, seven-day campus. We work closely with teams across AIS Operations to provide clear information, reliable service and a safe, welcoming environment. Our overnight team is central to maintaining service continuity, responding to issues and ensuring athletes and guests can access support when needed.
About the role –
As Night Duty Supervisor Campus Services, you will be the senior operational representative for Campus Services overnight and the primary contact for welfare, safety, emergency and operational matters. You will provide a visible and approachable presence for athletes living on campus, respond to pastoral care and safeguarding concerns, coordinate incidents and emergencies, and ensure the right referral, reporting and escalation pathways are followed.
You will also provide overnight support across residences, reception, sports camps, accommodation and guest services. This includes managing after-hours enquiries, late arrivals and early departures, monitoring occupancy and access, maintaining accurate records, completing account reconciliation and other financial administration, and providing a clear handover to day staff.
This is a key role for an experienced person who can work independently, exercise sound judgement and remain calm when priorities change. Your work will directly support athlete wellbeing, guest experience and the safe, reliable operation of the AIS campus overnight.
About you –
You are reliable, service-focused and confident working independently in an overnight residential environment. You will bring:
- experience in athlete pastoral care, residential care, safeguarding, youth engagement, community services, customer service, accommodation operations or a related service environment.
- experience using customer management, accommodation, booking or administrative systems and maintaining accurate records and reports.
- experience responding to incidents, emergencies, welfare matters or customer issues requiring sound judgement, discretion and appropriate escalation.
- demonstrated ability to coordinate operational activities independently in an after-hours, residential or customer-facing environment.
- strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to support people experiencing vulnerability or distress.
- awareness of trauma-informed practice and Mental Health First Aid principles.
- a current First Aid Certificate, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
- current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or the ability to obtain and maintain registration.
- Fire or Area Warden capability.
