Medical Forum is a leading practitioner publication offering news, features, podcasts and educational content for GPs, specialists and other health practitioners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a journalist to join the team for three days per week to contribute to digital news and features, newsletters and magazine content.

About the role

Working with the Managing Editor, you will source and write news stories and features for the daily website, monthly magazine and other digital media products.

The journalist will also support with uploading website content, social media posts and newsletters.

You will combine strong news writing skills and knowledge of digital engagement to deliver informative and engaging content and contribute to audience development strategies.

Key responsibilities:

· Write daily health and medical news stories

· Write features for the website and magazine

· Prepare content for web upload using our CMS

· Assist with social media posts

· Support the production of newsletters, including writing headlines and content selection

· Contribute to Medical Forum’s audience development strategies





· Attend events when required

About you

· Qualifications in Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

· Experience with content management systems, socials media and digital publishing

· Positive working knowledge of the news landscape in Western Australia

· Ability to work independently when required and manage a busy news schedule

· Sound understanding of media law, ethics and editorial standards

· An understanding of healthcare and medicine is desired, but not essential
