Strawberry Seed Consulting
Torquay
Are you the person who notices when something isn't quite right and can't help but fix it?
Maybe it's a document with inconsistent formatting. A spreadsheet that could be organised better. A process that takes five steps when it really only needs two.
Or perhaps you're the person who always knows what's happening, what needs to be done next and where to find everything.
If you love organised systems, enjoy making things run smoothly and get genuine satisfaction from ticking things off your list, keep reading.
About Us
Strawberry Seed Consulting is a boutique HR consulting firm based in Torquay, supporting small businesses across Australia with the people side of their business.
We're a small, close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together. We take our work seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We value flexibility, initiative and people who take pride in doing great work.
About the Role
We're looking for an Administration Assistant who loves being organised, is confident with technology and enjoys taking ownership of the things that happen behind the scenes.
You'll help keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly, from answering phones and managing enquiries to maintaining our client systems, preparing documents and supporting our HR Advisors.
Now, we're not going to pretend every part of this job is exciting. There will be data entry, repetitive tasks and plenty of behind-the-scenes administration. But these things matter, and we need someone who takes pride in getting the little things right.
We also love finding smarter ways to work. If you find yourself thinking, "Surely there's an easier way to do this," we'd love you to explore it.
We're a small team, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of your responsibilities. You'll have plenty of support, but we value people who can see what needs doing and get on with it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Answering phone calls,
responding to enquiries and managing administrative emails and bookings.
- Maintaining accurate client records, files and information across multiple cloud-based systems.
- Preparing and formatting documents, including employment agreements, policies, letters and other HR resources.
- Maintaining templates, training materials, presentations and internal resources.
- Supporting general business administration, including newsletters, Canva content and routine data entry.
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, simplify processes and make things more efficient.
About You
You don't need an HR background or years of administration experience. We're happy to train the right person. What matters most is how you approach your work.
You'll probably recognise yourself in a few of these:
- You're incredibly organised. You can manage your own workload, juggle competing priorities and keep track of the details.
- You're confident with technology. You're comfortable using Microsoft Word and Google Workspace, including formatting documents, working with templates and checking your work for accuracy. You can confidently navigate multiple cloud-based systems, learn new platforms quickly and aren't afraid to figure things out.
- You notice the little things. Accuracy, consistency and attention to detail come naturally to you.
- You love a good system. You enjoy finding better, simpler ways of doing things.
- You take initiative. You don't always wait to be asked, and you take ownership of getting things done.
- You're a great communicator. You're friendly, professional and confident speaking with clients and working with the team.
- You don't mind the routine stuff.
You understand that good administration isn't always glamorous, but it's important to get it right.
Most importantly, you're someone we can rely on to keep things moving, even when we're busy doing a hundred other things.
A Role That Works for You
We genuinely believe work should fit into life, not the other way around.
This role offers 30 to 38 hours per week, with the option of a 9-day fortnight.
You'll spend your first month working closely with the team in our Torquay office. After that, we offer flexibility around where and when you work, with regular time in the office to stay connected and support the team.
We also know not everyone wants the same thing from their career.
Maybe you're looking for an opportunity to develop new skills and grow with a business. Or maybe you want to come to work, do a great job, feel valued and have the flexibility to enjoy everything else that's important to you.
Both are absolutely fine with us. We're happy to support your growth, but we're equally happy with someone who wants to settle into a role they enjoy and do it really well.
Why Strawberry Seed?
You'll be joining a supportive team that values flexibility, trust and doing good work together.
We offer:
- Genuine flexibility and hybrid working arrangements.
- Training, support and opportunities to develop your skills.
- The chance to take ownership of your role and contribute ideas.
- Employee Assistance Program for staff and immediate family.
- Mental health leave and volunteer leave.
- Professional development opportunities.
Sound Like You?
We're not looking for someone who ticks every box on a resume. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, strong organisational skills, confidence with technology and the initiative to make things happen.
Send us your resume and a short cover letter telling us why this role appeals to you and what makes you a excellent fit for our team.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
