Highlights
- Pioneer sustainable battery recycling with world-first technology
- 4 days on/4 days off roster with 12-hour shifts
- Fast-paced start-up backed by leading climate-tech investors
Position summary
Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Technician and play a vital role in supporting Australia's first commercial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling demonstration plant in Perth.
You'll conduct routine chemical analyses including titrations, pH testing, and solution analysis on instrumentation, whilst collecting and preparing samples from plant operations to ensure accurate data underpins our world-first alkali recycling process. Your robust attention to detail and methodical approach will be essential as you maintain laboratory safety procedures, manage chemical handling, and support calibration and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Working on a 4 days on/4 days off roster with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, you'll provide critical analytical support for continuous plant operations, recording results accurately in laboratory systems and communicating findings to operations and technical teams.
This hands-on position requires expertise in chemical or metallurgical laboratories, with desirable experience in alkali-based processes, battery materials, hydrometallurgical laboratory techniques, and familiarity with laboratory inventory management systems (LIMS).
Your team collaboration and communication skills will enable you to contribute ideas for improving laboratory procedures whilst supporting process trials and plant campaigns that recover over 95% of critical minerals including lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, and manganese.
If you're a practical problem-solver with Australian working rights and qualifications in laboratory techniques or chemistry, this opportunity offers meaningful work in accelerating decarbonisation and tackling the e-waste challenge in a rapid-paced start-up environment.
