Some of our crew have been with us for over 25 years. Come and find out why.
If you’re an experienced MC driver who takes pride in your truck, knows your way around side tippers and can float your own plant, we’d love to have you on the team. At DAC you’ll drive new, well-kept gear, get a real mix of work, and join a Territory family business that keeps its people working year-round.
Who we are
DAC is Territory-owned and has been building NT roads since 1985. We do things differently. We’re known for the quality of our work and for looking after our crews. In 2026 we took out two CCF NT Earth Awards for our Victoria Highway projects, and we’re proud of every kilometre.
Our work covers highway rehabilitation, road upgrades, gravel re-sheets, intersections, culverts and flood repair. It takes us from Kakadu to the Barkly. If you like real civil work in real country, this is it.
Life at DAC
We’ve been a Territory family business for 41 years, and we’ve kept that family feel. Some of our crew have been with us for over 25 years, and that tells you most of what you need to know.
We make time to get together away from site. This year alone the crew has been to the CCF Earth Awards night, our Territory Day Fire Cracker night and a crew golf day, with BBQs, family days and plenty more on the way. Working with us can take you to experiences you may never have had before, both on the job and off it.
When you raise something, you’ll hear back about what we’ve done about it. We keep our crew working through the wet, and we build careers, not just roads.
The role
You’ll be a key part of our transport team, keeping our projects moving across the Territory. One week you might be carting gravel on a road job, the next you’re floating an excavator to a new site or running a general move. You’ll report to our Operations & Plant Manager.
Your rig
We invest in our fleet. You’ll be running new,
well-kept trucks and trailers, maintained by our own mechanics and set up properly for the work. If you look after your truck, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll be doing
- Running side tippers on gravel and material cartage, up to 3 and 4 trailers
- Floating plant and machinery, including self-loading and unloading
- General moves on drop decks and flat tops
- Doing daily pre-starts and keeping your truck in top shape
- Working on your own or with the crew, whatever the day needs
What you’ll bring
- Current MC licence
- 3+ years pulling three trailers
- Side tipper experience in civil construction
- Experience floating plant, with the confidence to self-load and unload
- White Card
- A strong commitment to safety, on and off the bitumen
- Happy to travel to remote sites and work flexible hours when the job needs it
- Can operate an excavator, loader or other plant? Even better.
Our ideal candidate
You’re a professional driver who treats your truck like your own and takes pride in a job done right. You’re reliable, straight up and safe every time. You’re happy to back yourself on the road and pitch in with the crew on site. You like variety, you’re always willing to learn something recent, and you want to be part of a team that has your back.
What’s in it for you
- New, well-kept trucks and trailers
- Variety. Side tippers, floats and general moves, so no two weeks are the same.
- Year-round work. We keep our core crew on through the wet.
- Training and tickets to grow your skills
- A crew that has your back, and a culture we’re serious about
DAC is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
Ready to hit the road with us?
