Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of copper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. This role is based in Laos PDR. Reporting to the Superintendent – Project Engineering & Operational Readiness, the Senior Mechanical Engineer – Design will support mechanical engineering design and the review of external engineering work for capital sustaining projects at Sepon. The role will provide practical engineering guidance on plant upgrades, new installations and existing equipment, working with project and operational teams to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Include:
• Preparing detailed mechanical designs and engineering calculations for plant systems, equipment and installations
• Completing pump and pipe sizing, equipment specifications and condition assessments of existing assets
• Reviewing external engineering designs and studies and resolving technical queries with consultants, suppliers and site teams
• Developing mechanical engineering standards, specifications, guidelines and project scopes of work
• Completing concept and feasibility studies and preparing preliminary project cost and labour estimates




• Participating in and facilitating management of change, HAZOP and hazard identification reviews
• Coordinating with engineers, contractors and operational teams to meet project requirements, schedules and performance objectives
• Assessing engineering risks, monitoring progress and ensuring designs comply with Australian and international standards and company requirements Experience, Skills and

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a strong technical background in mechanical design
• At least 10 years of mechanical design and/or project engineering experience; previous design experience is essential
• Detailed knowledge of Australian and international mechanical engineering standards and proficiency in design calculations
• Experience working in an engineering office, with knowledge of project management systems and process flows; pump and pipe sizing experience is highly desirable
• Robust communication, teamwork and multidisciplinary coordination skills, with the ability to coach and mentor colleagues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools, including Project and Power BI, and a valid driver’s licence An attractive salary package, including performance-based incentives and other benefits, is on offer.
