RJ Office is seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to develop, design and improve customised office furniture, workstation systems and related products. The role involves applying mechanical engineering principles to develop practical and innovative product solutions that meet client requirements, manufacturing specifications and RJ Office's quality standards.

Working closely with the Sales, Operations and Project Management teams, the Product Design Engineer will be responsible for developing product concepts, undertaking technical design assessments, selecting appropriate materials and components, and preparing engineering designs and documentation to support manufacturing and installation.

- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Annual Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 per annum (exclusive of superannuation)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and design customised office furniture, workstation systems, steel frames, sheet metal products and related components to meet client and technical requirements.
- Develop new product concepts and improve existing products through engineering design and technical assessments.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to determine product dimensions, materials, tolerances, structural requirements and component specifications.




- Undertake engineering calculations and assessments to evaluate product strength, stability, functionality and suitability.
- Select appropriate materials, components and manufacturing methods to meet engineering, quality and cost requirements.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and technical specifications using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Identify and resolve technical design and manufacturing problems, recommending appropriate engineering solutions and design modifications.
- Evaluate and verify product designs to ensure they meet functional, technical, safety and quality requirements.
- Work with production, sales and project management teams to develop practical product solutions and ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently.
- Review and improve existing product designs, manufacturing processes and material usage to enhance product performance, quality and efficiency.

About You

· Bachelor Degree in Engineering required

· Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
