Farley Riggs is a family-owned business based in Edinburgh, servicing and maintaining a diverse range of industrial equipment used across the energy, resources and construction industries.
We're looking for a mechanically minded Trades Assistant to join our workshop team.
You don't need to be a qualified mechanic or fitter. We're interested in people who have worked with tools, machinery or equipment and enjoy practical work.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs
- Working on pumps, hoses, valves, vehicles and industrial equipment
- Preparing, cleaning and inspecting equipment
- Assisting with basic fault finding and repairs
- Sandblasting, painting and surface preparation as required
- General workshop duties and equipment handling
- Helping keep equipment ready for projects and customers
Who would suit this role?
You might have experience as a Trades Assistant, Workshop Hand, Maintenance Assistant, mechanical labourer or in an equipment hire or machinery workshop.
We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys hands-on mechanical work
- Has experience using hand tools and power tools
- Is reliable, practical and willing to learn
- Can work independently and alongside others
- Takes pride in completing work properly
- Understands the importance of workplace safety
- Holds a driver's licence
A White Card, forklift licence or trade qualification would be an advantage.
