Female Disability Support Worker – Mulgrave

We are seeking an experienced, caring and dependable female Disability Support Worker to support a participant in Mulgrave with personal care, community access and the preparation of Sri Lankan home-style meals.

Please apply only if you can consistently work all five weekday mornings, reliably travel to Mulgrave and independently prepare Sri Lankan meals. These are essential requirements for this vacancy.

Location & Required Availability

This role is suited to applicants living in Mulgrave or nearby areas, including Wheelers Hill, Glen Waverley, Notting Hill, Clayton, Clayton South, Springvale and Mount Waverley. Monash University

You must be able to arrive reliably for a 9:00 am start and work until 11:30 am, Monday to Friday. Please consider whether the daily travel is practical for a 2.5-hour shift.

Applicants available for only some weekdays or different hours will not be suitable for this particular vacancy. Consistency is important to the participant’s daily routine.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Personal care: Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and other personal-care tasks according to the participant’s care plan, maintaining dignity and privacy.
- Community access: Support the participant with outings, appointments, shopping and everyday community activities.
- Sri Lankan meal preparation: Independently prepare familiar, home-style Sri Lankan meals, following the participant’s preferences and any documented dietary requirements.
- Safe, person-centred support: Follow care plans and safe manual handling procedures, encourage independence, maintain accurate progress notes and report concerns promptly.





Essential Requirements

Along with the availability, travel and Sri Lankan cooking requirements above, you must have:

- At least one year of hands-on disability support experience, including personal care and safe manual handling.
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or Community Services.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, with completed Manual Handling, NDIS Worker Orientation and Infection Prevention and Control training.
- A valid Australian driver licence and a reliable, insured vehicle suitable for work-related travel and community access.
- Australian working rights, a smartphone and confidence using digital rostering and progress-note systems.
- Clear communication, professional boundaries and a respectful approach to the participant’s cultural preferences and daily routines.

Practical experience preparing Sri Lankan cuisine is essential—not simply a willingness to learn. Please include examples of dishes you can confidently prepare.
