Assistant Accountant – Growing Hospitality Group

$70,000–$80,000 + super | Full-time | Sydney, NSW | Hybrid

We’re a growing hospitality group with venues across Sydney and regional NSW. We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Accountant who enjoys getting into the numbers, talking directly with venue managers and improving the way we do things as we grow.

What you’ll own

- Prepare weekly venue P&Ls; and follow up on unusual expenses, missing information and budget variances.
- Reconcile POS takings, cash, card settlements and bank deposits. Investigate discrepancies and follow them through to resolution.
- Keep accounts payable and receivable moving, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and assist with payroll checks.
- Track supplier spend, food costs and labour costs, and explain what’s changed and why it matters.
- Support cash-flow reporting, budgets and forecasts,



and work with our external accountant.
- Help make venue reporting and cash-handling processes clearer and easier to follow.

What you’ll bring

- An accounting or related degree and practical experience with reconciliations, month-end or management reporting.
- Robust Excel skills and the confidence to work through figures from several sources.
- The initiative to pick up the phone, get the information you need and close the loop.
- The ability to explain a P&L; in plain English. Hospitality, retail or multi-site experience is highly regarded.

You’ll work directly with venue managers and leadership, see how decisions are made across the group and have room to improve the processes you work with every week.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
