Chickmagnet is a newly opened charcoal chicken shop in the heart of Rye, and we're looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking all-rounder to join our small team!

We're after someone who's happy to get stuck into all aspects of running a busy chicken shop, from serving customers and preparing orders to cooking, food preparation and keeping the kitchen spotless.

What you'll be doing

Front of House

- Welcoming customers, taking orders and handling payments.
- Preparing and packing takeaway orders accurately and efficiently.
- Operating our charcoal rotisserie and deep fryers.
- Cutting and portioning cooked chickens.
- Keeping the service area clean, organised and well-stocked.
- Providing friendly, efficient customer service.

Back of House

- Preparing, seasoning and rodding raw chickens for the rotisserie.
- Preparing fresh salads, gravies and other menu items.
- Assisting with daily food preparation and stock rotation.
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Thoroughly cleaning kitchen equipment, benches, fryers and preparation areas.
- Assisting with end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures to ensure the shop is ready for the following day.

Who we're looking for

- Someone reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Robust attention to detail,



particularly with cleanliness and food safety.
- Confident communicating with customers.
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work and being on your feet throughout a shift.
- Available to work a mixture of weekdays and weekends.
- Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is preferred, but not essential. We're happy to train the right person!
- A food handling certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is required.

The position

- Location: Chickmagnet, Rye VIC 3941
- Employment: Part-time
- Shifts: Approximately 4 shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends.
- Hours: Potential for additional hours as we head into the busy summer season.
- Pay: In accordance with the applicable award, based on experience and classification.
