At South Coast Community Colleges, our Outdoor Academy brings education and adventure together through hands-on outdoor experiences, including bushwalking, kayaking, camping and other outdoor recreation activities.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and capable Course Manager to lead our team, grow our programs and help create unforgettable learning experiences that build confidence, develop practical skills and open doors to new opportunities.

This isn’t your typical education management role. It’s an opportunity to combine leadership, outdoor adventure and meaningful community impact.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead the adventure – guide and support a team of passionate outdoor education trainers and assessors.
- Shape exciting programs – develop and improve practical, engaging and industry-relevant outdoor education experiences.
- Grow the Academy – identify current opportunities, strengthen industry partnerships and attract more students.
- Make an impact – help learners build confidence, develop skills and discover pathways into the outdoor recreation industry.

- Champion quality and safety – ensure our programs deliver exceptional learning experiences while meeting safety and training standards.
- Bring fresh ideas – help shape the future direction and success of our Outdoor Academy.

What we are looking for

- You’re a confident, approachable leader who enjoys bringing people together and making things happen.
- You’ll bring experience in leading people, programs or operations, strong relationship-building skills and a genuine enthusiasm for outdoor education.
- Experience in outdoor recreation, education, vocational training or a related field will be highly regarded.
- You’ll also need relevant industry expertise, a driver’s licence and the ability to meet our child safety and employment screening requirements.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) is desirable, or you’ll be willing to work towards it within 12 months.

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation that believes education can change lives. Along with the opportunity to lead and grow a unique Academy, you’ll enjoy access to salary packaging, Fitness Passport, confidential Employee Assistance Program support and a team committed to making a difference.

How to apply

To apply, please submit:

- Your current resume outlining your relevant experience and qualifications.
- A brief cover letter explaining why you’re interested in the role and how your skills, experience and qualifications align with the requirements outlined in the Position Description.

We encourage you to review the Position Description before applying and tell us what you could bring to our Outdoor Academy.

Applications close: Friday 4 December 2026

For questions about the role, please contact Linda Livingstone, CEO on 1300 191 100 or email [email protected]
