Synergie Australia is seeking an APS2 Processing Officer for a trusted Government client located in Melbourne or Canberra.

The important parts:

Pay: $64,675 - $71,615 per annum + Super

Duration: 4 December 2026 to 30 June 2027 (potential for extension)

Locations: Canberra or Melbourne

Security: Baseline clearance or the ability to obtain one

Citizenship: Must hold Australian citizenship

Preferred hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

What you will be required to do:

As the Processing Officer, you will:

- Process straightforward claims-related payments
- Check information for accuracy and completeness
- Code and classify claims records
- Create, update and maintain electronic files
- Complete data entry and routine administrative tasks
- Follow established policies, procedures and guidelines
- Escalate errors or more complex matters when required
- Provide accurate information about routine processes
- Respond to stakeholder enquiries professionally
- Support improvements to claims financial-processing activities
- Work collaboratively with claims administration and income support teams
- Maintain accurate records within required timeframes

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Accurate data-entry and information-processing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to follow established processes and procedures
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Clear and professional communication
- The ability to provide responsive customer service




- Confidence using electronic records and business systems
- The ability to identify errors and escalate issues appropriately
- A reliable, collaborative and service-focused approach
- Australian citizenship

Experience in accounts payable, payment processing or records management would be highly regarded.
