Gold Coast Van Fitouts are seeking a Cabinetmaker. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality custom cabinetry and interior fit-outs for vehicles being converted into mobile accommodation. The role involves applying cabinet-making skills and practical knowledge to produce functional, durable and well-finished interiors that meet project specifications and customer requirements. Working within a small workshop team, the position requires a high degree of independence, attention to detail and flexibility to accommodate the varying requirements of individual vehicle conversion projects.

This is a permanent full time position for successful candidates. This role will be remunerated at $88,920 p.a. in addition to guaranteed superannuation.

Position requirements

At least 1 years’ full-time relevant work experience in a same or similar role.

Certificate III (or higher) in Cabinetmaking or another related field

This role is responsible for the following key areas and functions:

- Measure, mark out and cut timber, plywood, laminates and other materials to required dimensions.

- Manufacture custom cabinetry, cupboards, drawers, shelving, benches and furniture for vehicle interiors.

- Assemble cabinets and furniture using appropriate joinery methods, adhesives and fasteners.

- Operate woodworking machinery, power tools and hand tools to fabricate cabinetry components.

- Read and interpret workshop drawings, plans, measurements and job specifications.

- Modify and adapt cabinetry to suit vehicle layouts, internal contours and restricted spaces.

- Install cabinetry, furniture,



benchtops and storage systems into vans and other vehicles.

- Fit hinges, drawer runners, handles, locks, catches and other cabinet hardware.

- Sand, laminate, edge-trim and finish cabinetry and other timber components.

- Inspect completed work to ensure accurate measurements, proper fitment and quality of finish.

- Identify and rectify defects or installation issues during fabrication and vehicle fit-out.

- Coordinate cabinetry installation with other workshop trades, including electrical and plumbing installations.

- Maintain woodworking machinery, tools and equipment and keep the workshop clean and organised.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures when handling materials, operating machinery and undertaking fabrication and installation work.

- Installing interior and exterior fittings, and other campervan accessories in accordance with build specifications and quality standards

- Carrying out detailed fit off and finishing work to achieve a premium aesthetic and functional outcome

- Assisting with modifications and problem solving during custom build installations

- Assist with other reasonable tasks and duties required throughout the campervan conversion and fit-out process, including work outside the employee's primary trade where appropriate, within their competency and in accordance with relevant safety and licensing requirements.
