Experienced nurse looking for a different pace? Put your skills and experience where they matter most.
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking for a different working environment where you can continue making a meaningful contribution to someone's life?
Perhaps you have spent years working in busy hospital wards or residential aged care and are now looking for a more focused approach to nursing, with the opportunity to concentrate on one person's care.
Trefoil Care Services is seeking a Registered Nurse Division 1 to join our team at Brewster, approximately 30 minutes southwest of Ballarat.
This opportunity may suit an experienced nurse looking to reduce their working hours, a semi-retired professional, a nurse who has retired but wishes to continue practising, or someone considering returning to nursing.
Why consider this opportunity?
A focused approach to nursing
Provide dedicated, individualised nursing care to one person with complex support needs who requires assistance with all aspects of daily living, with a focus on their clinical needs, dignity, comfort and quality of life.
A collaborative and supportive team
An RN works alongside a support worker on every shift, creating a team approach to delivering safe, consistent and person-centred care.
Purpose-built home and manual handling equipment
The role is based in a fully equipped, purpose-built home with manual handling equipment to support safe care, including a ceiling hoist, Standing transfer aide and commode chair and Hi/Lo adjustable bed.
Permanent part-time employment
Work approximately 14–21 hours per week on a rotating roster, including weekends. This may suit nurses looking to maintain their professional skills while allowing more time for personal commitments.
Above-award hourly remuneration
We recognise the value of nursing experience and offer an above-award hourly rate. (We pay on the Nurses Award 2020, we are not a signatory to the Nurse’s EBA )
A rural working environment
Located in Brewster, approximately 30 minutes southwest of Ballarat,
this role offers a different setting from a busy hospital ward or large residential aged-care facility.
About the role
You will provide nursing care and clinical oversight tailored to the person's individual needs, working collaboratively with support workers to maintain safe and effective care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated, individualised nursing care.
- Monitoring health status and responding appropriately to changes in clinical condition.
- Administering medications and undertaking nursing interventions within your scope of practice.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation, care plans and relevant records.
- Working alongside support workers to ensure care is delivered safely and consistently.
- Communicating with relevant health professionals and other members of the care team.
- Promoting dignity, comfort, safety, wellbeing and quality of life.
This role carries important clinical responsibilities and requires sound nursing judgement, attentiveness and a commitment to safe, person-centred care. The focused care arrangement provides an opportunity to concentrate on one person's needs rather than the competing demands of a large facility.
Shift arrangements
The position involves a rotating roster, including weekends, across the following shifts:
- Day shift: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Afternoon shift: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Night shift: 11:00 pm – 8:00 am
Applicants should be willing and able to work the applicable rostered shifts.
About you
We are looking for a nurse who brings clinical experience, a calm and qualified approach, and a genuine commitment to quality care.
To be considered, you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Relevant nursing experience and confidence in assessing and responding to clinical needs.
- A compassionate, respectful and person-centred approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively with support workers and other health professionals.
- A commitment to safe clinical practice and accurate documentation.
- The ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
- The ability to travel to Brewster for rostered shifts.
- A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one as a condition of employment.
Applications are welcome from experienced nurses currently in practice, those seeking reduced hours, semi-retired professionals and nurses interested in returning to practice, subject to applicable registration and employment requirements.
Continue making a difference
Your nursing experience is valuable. If you are looking for an opportunity to continue using your skills in a focused care environment, where individualised care and teamwork are central to the role, we would welcome your application.
