Brodie is a vibrant young man who enjoys music, dancing, swimming, cycling, technology and being outdoors. You will learn how he communicates through AAC, body language, expressions and behaviour, and support him to communicate his preferences and make choices throughout his day.
This is an active, engaging role offering the opportunity to get to know one person well and make a meaningful contribution to his everyday life.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Follow health, therapy and behaviour support plans.
- Observe and report changes and maintain accurate shift documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Brodie’s family, support team and allied health professionals.
ABOUT YOU
You are patient, attentive and interested in getting to know Brodie. You take initiative, notice what needs doing and ask questions when unsure.
You will need to be comfortable providing personal care, willing and able to participate in swimming and water-based activities, and reliable in following support plans and safety procedures.
Relevant study or disability-support experience is welcome, but you do not need years of experience. We provide structured Brodie-specific training and competency assessments.

- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check — Employee.

- Required Brodie-specific training and competency assessments.
Applicants must be able to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role. Reasonable workplace adjustments will be considered.

Casual shifts may be available across weekdays, weekends and school holidays, including:
- Weekday mornings: 6:45 am–9 am.
- Weekday afternoons and evenings: generally from 3 pm, with finishing times depending on support needs.
- Weekends: 6:45 am–1 pm or 12:45 pm–7 pm.
- Additional school-holiday shifts and occasional overnight sleepovers.
Please include your regular availability in your application. Shifts are offered according to support needs and availability. Casual hours are not guaranteed, and employees may accept or decline offered shifts.
PAY AND TRAINING
Pay is in accordance with the applicable SCHADS Award classification, including casual loading, penalties, allowances and sleepover payments where applicable.
Employees receive structured training and undertake duties appropriate to their training and assessed competency. This is a paid Disability Support Worker position.
HOW TO APPLY
Please submit your résumé, regular availability and a brief response of approximately 2–4 sentences to each question:
1. What relevant study, training, experience or transferable skills would you bring?
2. Why does supporting one person appeal to you, and what stood out about this role?
3. Tell us about a time you noticed something that needed doing and took appropriate action without being asked.
4. How would you support someone who communicates without relying on spoken words to have genuine choice and control?
Interviews will generally take place through Google Meet as suitable applications are received. Accessible alternatives are available.
