About the role

Australian Native Products is looking for an HR Coordinator to run the day-to-day HR function, keep us compliant, and help build a strong, safe workplace culture. You'll work closely with managers across our sites, handling everything from recruitment and onboarding through to compliance, policy, and workforce planning. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope to improve how we do things.

Key responsibilities

- Run monthly HR compliance audits, making sure staff records, certifications, and policies are up to date.
- Coordinate recruitment, including posting job advertisements, screening applications, conducting job interviews, and liaising with hiring managers.
- Manage onboarding and off-boarding, including documentation, eligibility checks, and system access. Make sure the Australian Native Products Confidential Position Description requirements are completed accurately.
- Keep HR data accurate across systems, and make sure we comply with payroll and employment legislation.
- Track probation reviews, training renewals, and contract milestones, and remind managers when action is due.
- Plan the workforce so we can respond to changing labour needs. This means understanding the labour market and role requirements to limit lost productivity when staff change, and monitoring legislative changes in our industry, including testing and training requirements.
- Keep policies and procedures compliant and up to date as the business and employment environment change, writing and updating them in line with audit outcomes.
- Support managers with disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Be the point of contact for documentation under our (DAMA) visa sponsorship program.

- Handle all HR matters and employee interactions with confidentiality and professionalism.

What success looks like

- You complete all HR duties and compliance tasks on time and deal with issues promptly as they arise.
- You establish and carry out a culture improvement strategy, leading team meetings to improve company culture and raise safety concerns.
- You establish and carry out a performance review program that identifies gaps in our skill base.

Key skills and experience

Essential

- Experience in an HR, recruitment, or people and culture role.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act, the National Employment Standards, and modern awards.
- Recruitment skills, including interviewing, screening, and managing candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping, with experience maintaining HR systems and data.
- Sound understanding of payroll and employment compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to write clear policies and procedures.
- Discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Solid organisation, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Confidence working with managers at all levels, including on disciplinary and grievance matters.

Desirable

- Experience with visa sponsorship, migration programs, or DAMA arrangements.
- Experience with HR information systems, such as Employment Hero.
- Experience running audits, or developing performance review or training programs.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety, and of food safety or manufacturing environments.
- A diploma or degree in human resources, business, or a related field.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
