Breakfast & Catering Chefs | Australian Independent Feature Film

Take your breakfast and brunch skills on set for a six-week project catering for an Australian independent feature film.

Gradi Group is looking for two experienced chefs to join a small, highly experienced kitchen team. The engagement includes paid setup and training, plus four weeks of in office catering, preparing breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea to keep the production fuelled.

About the Role

We need chefs who can hit the ground running—confident with busy breakfast service, efficient with preparation and comfortable taking responsibility for their section. Training will cover the project’s setup and procedures; you’ll bring the practical cooking skills and experience.

Paid setup and training commence on 16 November, with catering starting on 21 November and the main four-week on-site catering period commencing 23 November.

You’ll assist with large-scale catering, delivering consistent meals on time and adapting to the filming schedule.

This role is based on set, with locations changing according to filming requirements. You must have your own reliable vehicle and a valid Victorian driver licence to reach the designated location each day.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with catering setup, preparation and pack-down.
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.
- Support large-scale food preparation and on-set catering service.
- Organise your section to meet scheduled meal breaks.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Follow food safety procedures and manage dietary and allergen requirements carefully.
- Keep your workspace clean and organised, adapting to changing locations and service needs.

Required





- Proven experience in a busy breakfast or brunch kitchen.
- Ability to manage your section confidently within a small team.
- Your own reliable vehicle and a valid Victorian driver licence.
- Ability to travel to different filming locations and be ready for a 6am start.
- Availability for the full six-week contract commencing 16 November 2026, including the catering start on Saturday 21 November.
- Australian working rights covering the contract period.

What You’ll Bring

You prepare ahead, work efficiently and maintain quality when service gets busy. You take initiative, communicate clearly and step in where the team needs support.

Previous experience in high-volume kitchens, event catering or film catering will be highly regarded.
