We're looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on Café Manager to lead our team at Shaka Café, located just steps from beautiful Freshwater Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Shaka is a busy, well-established café with a loyal local customer base and a fun, energetic team. We're all about great coffee, delicious food, good vibes and creating a welcoming environment for both our customers and staff.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on management position, suited to someone who enjoys being actively involved in daily service while confidently overseeing the operations of a busy café.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day running of Shaka, manage the team effectively and bring fresh ideas to the business.

You'll also work closely with the owner on developing exciting new menu items, improving processes and implementing operational changes to help Shaka continue to grow and evolve.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing daily café operations and ensuring smooth, efficient service
- Leading, motivating, supporting and training our team
- Preparing staff rosters and effectively managing labour costs
- Managing stock ordering, inventory control and minimising wastage
- Maintaining excellent customer service and consistent food and beverage quality
- Collaborating with the owner on new menu ideas, seasonal specials and product development




- Identifying opportunities for improvement and working with the owner to implement operational changes
- Working closely with the kitchen team to maintain consistency and efficiency
- Ensuring the café is clean, organised and operating efficiently
- Taking initiative, problem-solving and making confident decisions
- Being actively involved in service and jumping in wherever needed during busy periods

About You:

We're looking for someone who is confident, reliable, organised and genuinely passionate about hospitality.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous café management experience or strong supervisory experience in a busy hospitality environment
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to remain calm, efficient and positive under pressure
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to lead by example
- A strong understanding of café operations, staffing and cost management
- Barista experience highly regarded
- A creative mindset with fresh ideas and a willingness to improve existing processes
- A friendly, approachable personality and a genuine passion for customer service
- The confidence to take responsibility and manage daily operations independently

Weekend availability is essential,



with flexibility around weekday shifts available for the right candidate.
