About the role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Placement Key Workers to join our team at Better Together Community Support in Atherton, QLD. This rewarding role plays a vital role in our child welfare and youth services. You will be responsible for providing consistent, high-quality support to young people in care placements, acting as a trusted point of contact and advocate for their wellbeing. You will work closely with placement providers, families, caseworkers and other professionals to ensure young people receive the support they need to succeed. We have five (5) Placement Key Worker positions available. The roles involve office, household and community work and regular travel across the catchment. Rostered hours are Monday to Friday however, a rotating on-call rostering for after hours carer support is a requirement of this role.

What we're looking for

- A qualification in social work, youth work, community services, child welfare or a related discipline

- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable children, young people or families in a support or welfare setting

- Strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice and attachment principles

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team whilst also working independently
