Griffin Coal is a long established Western Australian coal producer supporting domestic power generation and key industrial customers. We are seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent to lead our maintenance and electrical teams.

THE ROL

Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager, the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent has the responsibility to ensure the reliability of power supply to site and that all electrical work is carried out in a secure manner. The position is also responsible for maintaining infrastructure and mine site services including water management, communications and building maintenance using effective planning techniques.

You will also:

- Develop, implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for electrical and infrastructure requirements.

- Manage any necessary infrastructure and equipment modification or upgrading.

- Monitor and advise on water management plans to ensure targets are reached.

- Oversee the planning, scheduling and development of all planned electrical and infrastructure works through the co-ordination of budgeting, manpower, parts and materials.





- Undertake the statutory responsibility of site Electrical Licence Holder through uniform safe work practices and providing final overview of electrical faults that may occur in operation.

- Provide clear coaching to Supervisors and Personnel to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to set the expected standard of work.

- Prepare and present relevant planning and maintenance information to Senior Management as required.

EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate will have:

- Trade Certification – A Grade Electrical Technician

- At least 10 years supervisory or managerial experience in heavy industry or open cut mining environment.

- Practical leadership style with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

- Advanced understanding of JSA processes.

- Ability to understand and interpret safety related legislation and educate others where required.

- Advanced Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) etc.

THE LOCATION & LIFESTYLE

Griffin Coal Ewington Mine is located near Collie, a town which is located 45 minutes from the coastal city of Bunbury and 2.5 hours from the capital city of Perth, Western Australia. This is a residential role and as such no relocation package is being offered.
