About the role

Mushiki Dumplings is seeking an experienced Production Manager (Food Manufacturing) to join our dynamic team at our Seaford, Victoria facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial operational role in ensuring the smooth, efficient and compliant production of our premium dumpling products. As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food manufacturing operations, from production planning and scheduling to quality assurance and team leadership. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and meeting the increasing demands of our growing customer base.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, schedule and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines whilst optimising resource utilisation

- Oversee the full production process, including food preparation, assembly, cooking, freezing and packaging of dumplings

- Ensure all production activities comply with food safety legislation, hygiene standards and company quality standards

- Monitor and maintain equipment functionality, conduct preventative maintenance and manage equipment-related issues to minimise downtime

- Manage and supervise production staff, including recruiting, training, rostering and performance management

- Implement and maintain production documentation, record-keeping and traceability systems in accordance with food manufacturing regulations

- Identify production inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste

- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to optimise stock turnover

- Liaise with quality assurance, sales and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction





- Report on production metrics, including output, yield, staffing costs and safety performance

What we're looking for

- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a food manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years in a management capacity

- Demonstrated expertise in production planning and scheduling, with proven ability to meet production targets and deadlines

- Strong knowledge of food safety compliance, including HACCP principles, allergen management and relevant food standards legislation

- Experience operating and maintaining food production equipment, including temperature-controlled systems and food packaging machinery

- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop production teams

- Proficiency in production management systems and Microsoft Office applications

- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, particularly in managing quality and compliance matters

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different departments

- Physical capacity to work on the production floor in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment

- A commitment to food safety, quality and continuous improvement

- Preference given to candidates with experience in frozen food production or dumpling/Asian food manufacturing
