About the role

At SHADES you will be part of a friendly, passionate team, helping customers discover beautiful designer eyewear while ensuring they enjoy a memorable shopping experience.

Permanent part-time position – 30 hours per week, with additional hours available for the right candidate

Your day-to-day role will include:

Welcoming customers and making them feel comfortable, valued and inspired

Helping customers find their perfect pair of sunglasses with personalised styling advice

Sharing your enthusiasm for fashion and learning about our exceptional designer collections

Getting a first look at exciting recent releases and upcoming collections, with opportunities to share your thoughts and ideas with the team

Building genuine customer relationships through friendly, attentive service

Assisting with sales, stock deliveries, inventory and daily store operations

Keeping our displays beautifully presented and the store looking its best

Handling customer enquiries, returns and after-sales care with professionalism

Working together as a team to achieve sales goals and create a positive, enjoyable environment

Key responsibilities

- Providing friendly,



efficient and knowledgeable customer service to all shoppers

- Processing sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system

- Restocking shelves and displays to ensure merchandise is well-presented and readily available

- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised store environment

- Answering customer enquiries and providing product information and recommendations

- Assisting with stock management and inventory checks as required

- Handling customer returns and exchanges in a skilled manner

- Supporting promotional activities and window displays

- Adhering to company policies, procedures and health and safety standards

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for customer service and a friendly, approachable demeanor

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse customers

- Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to work flexibly within part time hours

- Attention to detail and organisational abilities

- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Availability during the working week and flexibility to work rostered weekends, including alternate weekends, is essential.

- A willingness to learn and develop skills within the retail environment
