Utuk Construction is seeking a Construction Business Development Manager to join our team on a commission basis. This is an exciting opportunity to drive new business growth and establish strategic partnerships within the construction industry. Based in Melbourne VIC 3000, this role is pivotal in identifying new market opportunities, securing high-value contracts, and expanding our client portfolio. You will be instrumental in shaping the future direction of Utuk Construction by developing innovative business strategies and building lasting relationships with key stakeholders in the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the construction market, including potential clients, projects, and strategic partnerships

- Develop and implement targeted business development strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, contractors, architects, developers, and other industry stakeholders

- Prepare compelling proposals, tender documents, and presentations to secure new construction contracts

- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business development initiatives and identify emerging trends

- Negotiate contract terms and conditions to ensure favourable outcomes for Utuk Construction

- Collaborate with internal teams including project management, operations, and finance to ensure seamless delivery on secured contracts

- Track pipeline development, monitor business metrics, and provide regular reporting on business development activities and outcomes

- Represent Utuk Construction at industry events,



networking functions, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the construction industry

- Strong understanding of construction markets, project delivery methods, and industry procurement processes

- Demonstrated ability to identify new business opportunities and convert leads into profitable contracts

- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills with a track record of closing high-value deals

- Strong relationship-building capabilities with the ability to establish and maintain key strategic partnerships

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly

- Proven project management experience and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

- Knowledge of construction compliance, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices

- Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong commercial mindset

- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications

- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and site visits
