OSMAC Apprenticeships is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Panel Beating Apprentice to join one of our valued smash repair business partners in Cairns.

Recent school leavers and high school graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!

This is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in the automotive industry, gain practical, hands-on experience and learn from experienced tradespeople while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

No previous industry experience is necessary. What matters most is your genuine interest in cars, positive attitude and willingness, ability to learn!

Key Responsibilities

- Assist qualified tradespeople with vehicle body repairs and restoration.

- Learn to repair, remove, replace and refinish damaged vehicle panels.

- Assist with general workshop operations, including moving vehicles in and out of work bays.

- Prepare vehicles for repairs and refinishing.

- Safely operate hand and power tools under supervision.

- Carry out vehicle detailing and ensure vehicles are presented to a high standard before customer collection.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment, including end-of-day clean-up.

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and instructions.





Applicants Must Meet the Following Criteria

- Be an Australian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency.

- Hold a minimum P Plate driver's licence.

- Have a genuine interest in cars, automotive repairs and panel beating.

- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

- Be reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.

- Have valuable communication skills and attention to detail.

- Be comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

- Previous experience in automotive, mechanical work, labouring or as a trade assistant will be highly regarded.

- Any hands-on experience working on cars, using tools or completing practical projects is an advantage.
