Hays is currently recruiting for a well-established business in Melbourne's south-east that specialises in the manufacture and assembly of electrical switchboards. With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to add an experienced Electrical Fitter to their team.

Your new role

Working within a modern manufacturing facility, you will be involved in the complete assembly and electrical fit-out of switchboards.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications

- Assembling and fitting electrical switchboards and associated equipment

- Installing circuit breakers, transformers, meters, switches and other electrical components

- Wiring and connecting components within switchboard enclosures

- Busbar assembly and manufacturing

- Using hand and power tools, crimpers and other electrical fitting equipment

- Completing quality checks on finished switchboards

- Identifying and troubleshooting faults during the assembly process

What you'll need to succeed

- To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Electrical Fitting trade qualification or equivalent

- Previous experience within switchboard manufacturing, electrical assembly or a similar environment





- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

- Sound knowledge of electrical components and systems

- Busbar manufacturing experience

- Confidence using electrical hand and power tools

- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and Victorian SIRs
